The Devils punched their postseason ticket last night with a 4-1 win over Reading at the Burbank Arena.
In the first period, Reading controlled the play and outshot the Devils 16-3, but it was Burlington who cashed in the most.
Joe Barbieri started the scoring finishing off a feed from Sean Casey and Ryan O’Halloran doubled the lead when he cashed in a rebound of a Conor Quinlan bid. The Rockets scored late in the first period to cut the lead to 2-1.
A new look power play doubled the lead in the second period when Christian Hartling’s point shot found the back of the net.
In the third period, the Devils played a sound defensive game and Frankie Bonanno finished off the win with a late empty net goal.
Burlington (11-2) will host Lexington this Saturday at 5:00 at the Burlington Ice Palace.
